TAI CHI
This and the attached page are for any attendees of my Combat Stress workshops who may want to use the information on the password-protected attachments. I am glad you are accessing the information and hope you continue your explorations.
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art renowned for its health benefits, aiming to increase our energy levels by relaxing the body and aligning our Chi with nature’s energy.
Our energy or “Chi” is a very important part of life. When we feel lethargic, stressed or tired our flow of Chi is impaired. However when we are relaxed, calm and focused our flow of Chi is improved, giving us a greater sense of health and vitality.
An introductory workshop will combine intent, breathing, centering, grounding, relaxation, movement, mindfulness and balance.
2 hours will include:
– a 10 minute introduction
– 50 minutes of sitting or lying down (breathing, mindfulness, centering (Tantien))
– 50 minutes of standing (“warm-up” exercises, health exercises, elements of the Yang Form)
– 10 minutes review, feedback, questions
Loose, comfortable clothing is all you need.
All exercises are carried out at a (slow) snail’s pace.
Student material included in the next sub menu include
